Passion gets honoured by Talmud Torah School

Over a month ago Miranda, a grade 7 student at Talmud Torah Elementary emailed Passion to interview us about what we are were doing with Passion and how we support young women in Canada.

Talmud Torah Elementary school of Vancouver, BC has an amazing student program called the Mitzvah of Valuing Philanthropy program where it teaches its students about value of giving of self into community.

I was very honoured by Miranda approaching us for the program as you can imagine. Miranda is a bright, very articulate and endearing young woman who wow’ed me with her interest, young professionalism, and ambition.

Thanks to Miranda’s presentation with our Passion Team Leader Alex Lukac Passion was allocated $600 from the $18,000 the students raised from their bar mitzvahs.

Yesterday I attended the MVP Ceremony where Miranda’s class, over 30 grade seven students, allocated 30 non profits funds from their own pockets… I was in awe! The level of gifting, energy, and sharing was not only impressive but inspiring.

Passion is truly honoured to have the opportunity to stand up with long living non profits like Friends of Life, Covenant House, Ronald McDonald House, and Canuck Place

Thank you Miranda and classmates of Talmud Torah for reminding us of the power of how a small group of people can change a community… We are moved and inspiring to keep up our mission!
